In our recent surveys on sexual harassment in the workplace, 46 Professional Dimensions members and 40 TEMPO Milwaukee members shared their personal stories, detailing experiences at work that ranged from inappropriate staring to sexual assault.
This wide spectrum of inappropriate behaviors and other comments raised the questions: "Do we all look at this issue through the same lens? Do we all possess the same threshold for what constitutes sexual harassment and what does not?"
Furthermore, we compared our surveys to others conducted nationally and found a wide variation of results.
To explore these questions, our Progressive Lunch on May 9th will dig deeper into the different perspectives and opinions we hold on this issue. We will hear from TEMPO Milwaukee, whom we partnered with to distribute the sexual harassment survey, to share its findings as well as discuss the importance of continuing the conversation.
Facilitated by Professional Dimensions members Deidre Garrett of MRA and Jilly Gokalgandhi of Rockwell Automation, we will discuss real life scenarios and how each of us would address them. This will include our own personal experiences, how we took action or why we didn't.
We hope you will join us and bring a guest to expand this conversation beyond our membership.
