Professional Dimensions Special Interest Group Reframing Reality will be hosting a program to read and discuss "The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America" by Richard Rothstein. The book documents how government programs and policies dating back to the 1930s and before caused cities across the country to become so racially segregated.

This program will be facilitated by Professional Dimensions members, Paula Penebaker and Pat Gorence. Light snacks will be provided. Any additional discussion sessions will be set at the initial meeting.

Reading "The Color of Law" is part of a community-wide read of the book sponsored by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council (MMHFHC) and LISC Milwaukee with the goal of developing a shared understanding of the past to facilitate a more equitable future. The book-read is the jump start to that shared understanding.  Author Richard Rothstein will address the community book-read groups in Milwaukee the evening of Tuesday, October 16.

If you have any questions about the book-read, please contact Pat Gorence at patricia_gorence@wied.uscourts.gov or call (414) 297-4165.

Reframing Reality is a SIG focused on building community, learning and growing further on our understanding of race and equity in our community and world. If you would like to be added to the Reframing Reality SIG mailing list please email info@professionaldimensions.org.
