Access to high quality education is a human right and prerequisite on the journey to freedom, yet Milwaukee is challenged to successfully provide this opportunity to all students. This disproportionately impacts those who need it most. Education has remained political, divisive and misunderstood for decades, and as we PD women step into our role as system leaders we must understand the ecosystem (from a variety of perspectives) and "start with us" to determine our role in interrupting the systems that have led to these disparities.
Join us for a conversation with MPS school board member Jilly Gokalgandhi and City Year Executive Director Dr. Stephanie Maney as we discuss education in Milwaukee.
This event will be in-person from 11:30am-1:00pm on Wednesday, November 10th at our "PD Penthouse". Tickets are limited to provide for intimate, honest conversation and account for comfort of participants. Address and directions available with event confirmation and proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results is required.
